How It All Started
A caterer’s niece, a summer job, a lifelong game
When I was 12-13 I began working at the golf course in the town where I grew up. My Aunt was the caterer and I wanted to start working. This is how my lifelong love (and sometimes strong dislike) of the game came to be. I’ve never had a lesson, just lucky enough to get to practice the 6 years I worked there.
My Background
Five courses. Fourteen titles. Forty-plus years.
I’m near Waterloo, Ontario. Currently I’m a member at Whistle Bear Golf Club, and the 2026 Senior Women’s Club Champion. I’m also a member at The Classics, Lely Resort and the 2026 Women’s Club Champion. I’ve been the club champion at 5 different courses, totalling 14 titles over my 40+ years of golf.
My Golf Life
One hundred games a year, and counting
I golf year round, so I get in over 100 games a year. My favourite courses are the ones where I’m playing with my friends, as those are my favourite times. My favourite golf hole is #18 at The Classics, Lely Resort. I’m currently an 8 handicap, but my husband says I’m a 10.
